126. JAMES WOODFORD WIGHT was born on 4 Apr 1855 in SCOTT TOWNSHIP, MADISON CO. IOWA. He died on 28 Apr 1922 in ELLIOTT, MONTGOMERY CO. IOWA. In his youth, James was a stonemason and later he managed a hotel at
Elliott, Iowa. He was a resident of Elliott most of his life. James
passed away at Elliott, Iowa in 1922 from kidney problems and is buried
at the Elliott Cemetery, Montgomery County, Iowa.

He was married to ORA BELLE VARDAMAN on 20 Dec 1884 in RED OAK, MONTGOMERY CO. IOWA. ORA BELLE VARDAMAN was born on 8 Nov 1865 in BRIGHTON, WASHINGTON COUNTY, IOWA. She died on 20 Feb 1938 in RED OAK, MONTGOMERY CO. IOWA. Ora Belle was the daughter of Peter and Myra Levina Vardaman and had at
least one sibling, a sister Ellen (Vardaman) Doty. Ora Belle came to Red
Oak, Iowa with her parents when just a small girl and in 1884, after her
marriage to James, they moved to Elliott, Iowa where she continued to
live until shortly before her passing when she moved to Henderson, Iowa.
Ora Belle passed away of a heart ailment in Red Oak, Iowa in 1938 and is
buried at the Elliott Cemetery, Elliott, Montgomery County, Iowa.
